One of the major project announcement during December 2012 came from Dubai based Meeras – the US$600 Million Dubai Adventure Studios. Construction on the first phase of the three-phased development is expected to commence in 2012 with completion scheduled in 2014. The 74-hectare project to be located close to the Arabian Ranches intersection in Dubai will host major US-based movie attractions.

A similar project was announced in Abu Dhabi also during December 2012 to construct a major new theme park in the capital, with more than 25 rides on five themed islands. Adventure World Abu Dhabi will be built in partnership with Adventure World Poland.

In an another major announcement, Dubai Maritime City (DMC) launched Six new office, hotel and residential projects  of DMC’s $680m 121-hectare Business District development. The six projects will be carried out by six developers, with work expected to begin on sit by the end of 2012. Projects include the 34-storey Swiftships Tower office building; the Iris Mist hotel apartment and residences, and Kensington Krystal budget hotel by Kensington Global. Sanali Global will build its Sanali Aquamarine Residential Apartments, while Dubai Investments Real Estate has planned to build a six-star hotel within the district.
